Looking for information on sledding in Washington.

Looking at places for a change of scenary and have some interest in NE Washington. One of the "must haves" is good sledding. Just looking for input from those that know how the sledding is. Any information would be helpful.

Well in this part of washington we are really close to the mountains of north idaho and the idaho/montana boarder. North idaho's spots include Priest lake, Baldy, Roman Nose, trussle creek etc. The only places we have ridden near montana is the mullen and lookout pass area, which is some pretty good riding. Im not sure how it would compare to wyoming snow, I know it probably isn't as good, but north idaho doesn't get the washington wet snow.

The beginning of january is usually when you can start to actually ride in all the spots you want to, and that kind of riding will last until about april, then the snow starts to set up a little and from there on out its just spring riding.

Well I'll chime in, limited experience riding NE Washington on a low snow year two years ago. We rode Spirit lake area (had potential with more snow) Callispel Peak area also would have been nice with more snow, easily within reach to the east is Preist lake, and Canada to the north is just a short drive from where I stayed in Chewelah. Ten miles out of town is also some pretty good skiing at 49 Degees North, with sledding out of Collville and Newport areas as well. I'd like to return this year if we have a better winter, like said a lot of potential in the surrounding areas. Hope this helps. :face-icon-small-win
