looking for help/saw winch for sled retrieval/priest lake

:(stabbed a track today, ripped in half(sat 2-28) left the sled and looking for someone who has or knows someone who has a winch to tow out before the rains hit. Talked to terry at the cavanaugh resort, someone stole the winch he had, would the thief let us use it?? sled is about 5 miles from warming hut, just over the ridge from the pencil chute, or does anyone have a spare 151 track to use to get it out with? appreciate any help you can offer!!:)

I've got a gas powered 2500# Capstan winch with 800' of rope and all pulleys etc. that you need in Kettle Falls, WA. I am in Boise right now but have employees that can get it and show ya the tricks.

Dont forget about putting the skid on the back of the tow sled with the disabled sled facing backwards and turning the skis around to face forward.

Post up on the Spokane thread in the Idaho section of riding areas. There are a couple guys up in that area that know all. Good luck. Eric W 509-680-4335

checkin for anyone who knows sandpoint trail to preist

Thanks Springsnowhero, sent you a pm and did leave you voicemail, called andy and lefy msg also. Does anyone out there know the trail from sandpoint side, looking for a tour guide.jk The approxamate location of sled is located over the ridge from the pencil chute if headed from the warming hut, and down to creek btm area below the climb to pack. Sort of in that general area, seems a few guys are thinking the better way out would be to head to sandpoint trail.

Heading out for a while to get some gear and maybe a track? If anyone has more suggestions to area for help getting out, thanks for that, i'm concerned if the rains come that are said to be, it could turn into a bad deal, dont want anybody putting themselves into danger to help, but will definitely take help from somone who knows a easy route to exit! Thanks to all for the help so far!:)

Have you ever been up Jeru @ pack river ? I believe your off the back of the jeru saddle ? below soldier ?. I have never dropped in but their is a pretty low saddle S. of Jeru peak ( the higher peak on the Jeru ridge?) if you can get through that saddle you can drop in and hook up w/an old road. We turned off the Jeru trail couple years back on a road/trail (it should be very ridable) and hit the ridge S. of the saddle I mentioned. So if you dropped over the saddle their should be @ least 1 road/trail you could go out. Good luck on the recovery, sorry I can't offer better info.

Inch by Inch,. we did talk this morning, i'm working on getting the track from spring snow hero, lets connect later today or tomorrow, were not going back till tomorrow to get sled, gonna try replace track and ride out same way we came in.

I'm down right know or i would come over and put the track in for you. Good luck.

set the skid on top of tow sleds tunnel, ratchet down good. Turn skis around backwards and start trucking. Sounds good on paper.:D
