Looking for Help: Clean Snowmobile Challenge

Hey guys!

I am entering my Senior year of Engineering school at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho this upcoming Fall. Part of out curriculum is to complete a design project in order to get us some "real world" experience before we graduate.

Obviously I love snowmobiling so I am trying to tie the two together.

One possibility is the SAE SAE Clean Snowmobile

In short the teams make modifications to sleds to reduce exhaust and noise emissions while attempting to maintain performance and gas millage.

Our team objective is to "Represent The West.
We want to show up with mountain worthy sled and try and use products produced in NW.

This project is a little ambitious to start from the ground up, but I have to try!!

The biggest obstacle to the project success is that we actually need a physical snowmobile.
To be competitive we would need to show up with a IQ and up Chassis and our preferred motor is the Polaris 4 stroke

We are looking for sponsors of all kinds!

Below is our info sheet! We will have a website up soon. Please let me know if you can help or of any suggestion on who to contact.

Thanks!

Purpose: The Society of Automotive Engineers - International Clean Snowmobile Challenge is an engineering design competition that challenges engineering students to reengineer an existing snowmobile to reduce both emissions and noise. The modified snowmobiles compete in a variety of events including emissions, noise, fuel economy/endurance, acceleration, handling, static display, cold start and design.

Objective: “Represent the west” by fulfilling competition objectives while retaining the performance, functionality and essence of a true mountain snowmobile.
