Looking for a new area to ride...

S
Ive taken 3 annual trips to Tog. Havent been the last 2 yrs :( , but most likely be back on track for next yr. As much as I love the Tog area, Im wanting to take a look and maybe try a new place... Only place that ive read abit on is the Thunder mountain lodge area...
What we are looking for is...
Similar terrian/snow as Tog. We like to come out during Feb good or bad time?
We fly out from NY with just our gear. Another reason we liked Tog is the all inclusive and rentals on site etc.. So a similar setup would be nice but not a deal breaker.
Access to Doo,Poo,Cat dealers and guide service
Ideally w/in an hr or so of the airport.
Thanks!!

I like the Snowy range in southern Wyoming. Great all inclusive terrain and great snow in Feb, usually. I stay at Wycolo, they rent cats, fairly inexpensive to stay and eat, multiday discounts on lodging and do have guide services. The other place up there is in Albany, little pricier, newer cats and lodging, dunno about guide services, little steeped terrain up that way. You can also rent doos I believe from Mavericks down in Laramie trailer included, Laramie also has poo and cat dealers. Only issue would be snowys are a 3 hour drive from denver or you can go to Laramie airport from denver on a puddle jumper, great lakes, and be right there in Laramie which is an hour from the range...

SleddingFarmer,

I recently returned from Thunder Mountain Lodge and enjoyed it. I would suggest calling Mark, the owner, and asking him details and prices. I have not been to Togwotee, but can only imagine you would be able to find riding areas of your preference there.
I do know there is an airport around an hour away and there are multiple dealers within the same time frame as well as guides.

I am not trying to sell TML to you, just my 2 cents.

Consider Grand Lake. Lots of rental options (On the Trail Rentals 888 627 2429), you can ride from town, the trails are well-groomed, we have a variety of off-trail riding, and we're only about 2 hours from DIA.

Thanks for the responses so far!! I had snooped around on the TML website but didnt find much info.. guess ill have to call and maybe get some info sent out to me...Looking around at the Grand lake area attm...Thanks again...

TML has 5 brand new 2011 MTX nytros you can rent, and Mark will pick you up at the Grand Junction airport, which is about 1/2 to 45 min from lodge. They have great food and drinks right there at the lodge. I am sure if you call Mark at TML on the Grand Mesa he will hook you up!!! You can also get him on SW, he is "CANNONMAN". Thunder Mountain Lodge will treat right!!!!!!
