Looking for a good all around straight blade knife for around camp; cutting branches, rope. Was leaning towards a black Ka-bar (botach has them for 42.00), or maybe something from cold steel. Any opinions\suggestions?

Kershaw makes a pretty awesome knife

As well as Gerber.

Both should fit exactly what you're looking for. have 10 or so Kershaw knives, use all of em

I was going to say the same thing. I have a Kershaw that works great for a camp knife. It holds an edge good and I use it for everything from chopping firewood to skinning deer. I have the Roughneck. Great all aroung knife.

No lie I have a fixed blade Rapla knife that has been amazing for the last 10 years or more. Pretty decent price as well.

Also have a few Bucks that have held up....also my dads choice of kinfe. And he uses them exactly how you aren't supposed to.

Gerber and Kershaw are both great as well.

None of those choices are to spendy and all hold up.

I own a few Chris Reeves knives, top quality with great customer service.
