Looking for 2 beacons

Most of the used beacons out there are the old analog beacons that are hard as hell to use, let alone try and find someone that is burried. If you do find a newer style/digital beacon you will probably spend $240-250. SnowBigDeal.com has brand new beacons with the full warranty and a free shovel or probe for barely more than that.

looking for 2- beacons

thanks for the tips, learning more about beacons. Have rode backcountry alot of years and outrode avy 5 years ago, LUCKY , digital must be new what last year or two ?? I thought my old analog bag phone worked as good or better than the new digital.

A good analog beacon has a lot of range and works well in the hands of a very experienced user. They are harder on batteries and can be confusing to use with multiple burials. The new digital beacons will find the signal from both beacon types and the Pieps can also find the signal from another beacon that has lost calibration and is sending an out of frequency signal.

Yes, they should because they run on the same frequency. The primary difference is an analog beacon has only one antenna. Many digital beacons have two antennas so they will "point" to a buried beacon when in the search mode. Several of the better new digital beacons have three antennas which enables them to pinpoint deap burials that will give two locations because of the flux lines when searching with a single or double antenna beacon. This a big advantage for the average user at a time when panic and confusion can cause delays in locating a burial.

Where are you toesmack? I'm in Western Canada and am looking for two beacons, specifically the BCA. Would you be willing to ship them to Canada? I'll send you a PM :beer;

Give me a chance to dig them out of the snowmobile boxes; If I remember correctly one is a Sos and the other is the Pieps? Hell I'm not sure. I will go look and see.
I do know the probes cost $90! crap $90 for a stick! fancy stick but still a stick..

That is the problem with buying from a backpackers or X country skier supplier. BUYER BEWARE where your money goes!
Still got 2 Trackers left.
