Could I save a load of money on the 05? or is it too high miles..

Thanks

i certainly wouldnt buy a truck if everything on it has been replaced. 6.0ls seem to be a hit or miss, and if you get one that has a bunch of problems, they will continue. If you get one without problems, you are lucky.

I'd get the 06. No question.

Save yourslef a bunch of money and get a 01-03 7.3 and never worry about any problems. 150,000 miles on mine and $300 worth of repair costs (brakes and a glow plug relay) and shes still running like brand new, never uses a drop of oil. And a side fact, you get better mileage too.... JMO

Depends what you want to spend....that is a large price and mileage difference. One is average mileage, the other a year older with high mileage. Was the 05 a company truck? That's a lot of miles to put on for personal use....

If you have 19 grand to spend, there's your answer. If you have $28K to spend go see what kind of a deal you can wangle on the 06. You can try to rationalize the repairs/potential repairs anyway you like, but the reality is that the list of what "might" break is the same for both trucks. Lower mileage doesn't always mean fewer problems, but it does get you a much fresher truck overall.

Also consider if you plan to keep this thing forever or just a couple years. Rack up 60,000 miles on the 05 and you're getting close to 200,000. Do the same on the 06 and you're just over 100. Big difference if you ever plan to sell it.

I'd go for the 06 also. Jay has some good points listed^^^. I'd bet you might be able to chew that dealer down a little bit too.
