Looking at buying an 06 Rev 800

Is there much of a difference between the X and adreniline models? Any feedback on 151" 06's??? Just sold my cat so I'm not sure on this one. Any help would be great.

Thanks

I've loved my 06. I have 3200 miles and did a top end kit at 3000 miles. Never in shop. I have the adrenaline, but wish I had the track the x has, but not worth the money to change out. I still can't decide if I should get a new one next year or ride reliable and fun one more year. Good luck and it takes a little time to adjust to the rev platform, but I really like it now.

In 2005 the X models have:

Straight bars with risers and less junk on the bars
Clear tank
Wave rotor
I believe they had better shocks
My mind draws a blank for the rest,, LOL:face-icon-small-con

I am sure the 06's are the same...

same motor the X has nicer shocks... I went to an X this year and I do like it better. Major upgrade with the shocks

The 06 X also has a roller secondary clutch, linked swaybar, clear tank, and I beleave different bars. Their is enough goodies to make them worth a bit more. If you can get a good price on an X modle I think you will be glad you got it. Nick

This is the 2 sleds I am looking at

the guy has an 06 Rev AD 800 for $6400 ( I think I can get it for $6000 )

he also has an 07 800 X 800 for $7700 ( I think I can get it for $7500 )

Both are stock and under 925 miles.

The 06 is hands down the best production rev you can buy right now. Many guys here will conceede to that!

I have a pair of 06 800 151X sleds and love them. One is mine and has the most work done to it so far. The other is ridden by my girlfriend... it's my backup and fully capable.

I switched from polaris this year and so far I'm loving these sleds. Takes a little time to get used to the difference in the way they ride but really love it in the powder. The research I did prior to purchasing them seemed to indicate the 06 is the year they had it dialed. I paid about $6300 for each of them (seperate sellers) and that was a good price this last fall in the northwest.

You can rent them and see if they fit your style but it really takes (for me anyway) a few times out on it before you shake the old way and get with the REV way.

Good luck

Everything everyone else has mentioned and the Adrenalines in 06 also had 10T drivers, the 07 X will have 9T.

I have had both machines. I had my 06 in the shop for broken chains 3 times. Blew 3 belts in 1300 miles and it drank fuel like no other, maybe 40-45 miles tops in deep pow riding with the HO motor.

My 07 X has gone through 3 belts since new. Now with 1590 miles and the clutches updated, it completely rips! Its also MUCH better on fuel with the 800R and I have the powdermax 2.3 track under it and it flat out works awesome(stock camo lite sux on the 07 X). I think most of the 07 issues are internet hype.

Id say go 07 X and get a powdermax on it.

the 06 X has a 2.25 inch track fully "ported". The adrenaline has a 2 inces non "ported". The bars are straight on an X....with a riser. But they are both about the same hight. Just different design. The X has no fuel gauge. Just a clear tank with a flap on the side of the seat. X has HPG take apart shocks....not much better IMHO. X has wave brake rotor......WHO cares. The X comes with the shorter windshield. And only the X was available in the 159". which is the main reason I went with an X when i bought one. I think that is about all of the difference.

What does fully ported vs. non ported mean? Other than the 1/4 inch difference in lug height I can't see any difference in the tracks on the 06 adrenaline and the X. Don't notice any appreciable difference in track performance either.
The shocks don't feel any different however they can be revalved and who cares about that. When the time comes just buy a good replacement.
The X package is nice and isn't worth much of a premium in price on a used sled to me. Don't pass up a good 06 adrenaline.

I agree that there is no diff in the tracks except paddle height, I think that therer is a notacable diff in handling with the extra adjustability in the X package. X's also came with 9 tooth drivers due to the taller lug's, Roller secondary, link type swaybar, straight bars, smaller tailights, different rear bumpers and were supposedly a few pounds lighter. Dont forget the ugly graohics that came on the x's though, the color schemes were much better on the adrenalines in my opinion. Either way they are bith a hell of a sled.

Well I bought the 06 AD. Took it over to RYDPWDR's shop to go through the machine and check everything out. The guy told me that it wasnt wrecked and in great shape. We get it turned over and he must have nailed a huge rock or a stump. Left A arm, ski, and the bottom of the front are hammered. So I called the guy and asked him about it. I told him I am taking it to my dealer to get everything priced out. He seemed cool and told me to let him know what it was going to cost. Hopefully he does the right thing and pays for it all. Sucks when you get a new toy and this crap happens. Be a couple weeks before I get to take it out now. :(
