Looking at an M8

I'm thinking about getting an M8 for next year. My question is are the diamond drives with the reverse in them really that bad? Should I stay away from that or isn't there really that many problems with it?

they are electronic reverse like the ski doo's and polaris's now....... hope this helps........ they did away with the mechanical part of it like the 07's and 08's

My buddy has rode his 07 M8 now for 2yrs with zero problems, however, I would look for an 08 or newer as they seem to perform better.

I don't buy the 07's being sub-par to the 08's and newer. Once you get them set up, they rip. Look in the swapmeet, there are very few 07's and quite a few 08's and some 09's.

Don't know if it's a coincidence or not.....

08' with 1500 miles, not a single issue.

09 with 1200 miles, no issues

08 with 1400 and zero problems and same belt. however if you can, go for the 09. the tunnel and track make a huge difference.
