Looking at a Rev

Checking out a 04 800 144 Rev. I'm new to SkiDoo is there anything in particular I should be looking for. It has an 05 800 engine with twin pipes, is this a good thing? Thanks, any advice is appreciated.

I wouldnt suggest twins.Well sometimes but this is the wrong forum .Anyways stick with a stock reliable setup till you get used to her.You need be be a tuner with some mods. Great sleds with some upgrades

I had twins on my '04 Rev, worked great. I kept stock timing, and ran rpm around 8200. They did not work well w/ the stock air intake though or when the pipes were cold. As far as checking out the sled, see when the last time pistons were replaced. I don't trust the pistons after 2000 miles. Might give a bargaining point. Other than that, just visually check it over well.

If it hasn't been altered (porting, timing, etc) for the twins, shouldn't be anything more than putting on y pipe, pipe, can and rejetting. Easy to pick up stock single on here or dootalk if not available.

Look the underside over well. Make sure the front shocks are centered in the A arms. If they are not stay away.

Check the bulkhead panel behind the exhaust can and make sure it is flat/straight and not bent outwards towards the can.

x2. And behind clutch also. There are after market reinforcement plates made that go there.
comp check. Install gauge pull plugs and pull cord. 5 mins.. less than 100 is a bargaining tool. YOU start it ice cold. Nothing worse than show up to inspect a warm machine and all is good till you try to start it a few days later and it wont start cold for ya.

cleanliness in engine compartment, but not just cleaned. If ya know what i mean. shows how the owner maintained it.
