Looking at 900 need tips

Hey guys,

My buddy is looking at a 05 900 166 50th tonight and i was gonna go with him to look at it. Has some where around 600 mile's all stock. The owner says the updates have been done. I used to have a 755 and know about the sleds as far as what needs to be done for better performance. I was hoping some one can give me a few tips on what to look for.

Best advise I can give is to read the above threads and stickeys.
Each machine is diff- but the more knowledge you have the better.

Thanks Scott for the reply. I have read through a lot of the sticky's. My main question is should i be to concerned about crank and pistons. is there a few updates i should really ask about?

Up dates

The up dates are new gas tank,some wiring with only 600mi. & being stock not much should be wrong.But hear is a few things to do before you have problems. slp push arms & torque stop,balance the clutch & make sure the belt is lined up,all the vents you can buy, this is a start then read the 900 post to learn more.

Oh for sure. That's what i had done to my 06 also with about every thing you can imagine. I made a list for my buddy to buy. I told him i will just feel bad if he gets it and has a few problems down the road.

Sounds like you know what to do, so just make sure it was the new tank.
And on mine it's a 05 at about 1300mi i crack a piston so in time you will want to up date to 06 piston maybe next summer. Just keep an i on this.
