Looking at 2005 Summit 1000 X

your getting pretty close to an engine rebuilt on the 1000, I love the sled but the motor doesn't last very long in my opinion. Read other forms and around 1500 to 2000 miles people are talking about rebuilding motors. alot don't make that! I'm in the process right now and they aren't very cheap. Mine made it to 1795! They do have shirt problems on the pistons, BRP won't admitted to that but alot of the rebuilds are do to that. Mine was the roller bearing on the rod at the crank. The power and torgue is additctive but is it worth the money on rebuilts. just my opinion!

its a toss up man.. i love my sled and ive had a few problems with it.. but i have 3500 miles on it and havent touched the motor... but i did all the sugested things to it like fuel pump, pod filters, front and rear cooler delete.. etc and some lightweight stuff... i hate to tell u to get it and something happen to it.. but then again, i hate to tell u not to get it and u miss out on an awesome sled..... if your a smaller guy, a 800 would be fine...

I am going to apologize to the guy trying to sell it right now, but...The two best days I had with mine, were the day I picked it up, and the day I sold it. They quit making them for a reason. I suggest just buying an 800, and if you want more power than do a big bore kit from Split Second.
