Longest recommended rail extension?

whats the longest rail extension you would recommend before strength becomes compromised? I'm am looking at long tracking my 121 skid and am curious as to how long I can go before I should just buy new rails.

Might depend on what skid you are using with what rail ext. you will use.

I used Tracks USA ext on my Mountain Max to go from 141 to 151. I think they are one of the stongest, they bolt on and fit into the stock opening for the rear axle adjustment.

I have the race skid, an sc10-4. I am asumming that extensions won't make any kind of geometry adjustments like a summit skid would. I've seen wildchild's extensions and really like those, I really like how they can extend the hyfax too and they seem stronger than some other designs i've seen.

The BEST way would just to find a summit skid, you can find them pretty cheap, just to get away from the linked suspension, not the best for the deep.

Anything more than 6" and you might as well move the skid back, not worth the chance of breaking something.....

had custom rails on my race sled and now im going to a 153 mountain skid. adding extentions can work, to much and your in for some bent parts i think depending on your riding.

THanx guys, appreciate it, I think i'm going to try to find a mountain skid and go from there. If I feel I need a bigger track, then I'll go for some extensions.
