Longer shift lever

First off I'm stoked on getting a kit for my 300XCW. I've ridden sleds since I was 3. But I had the privilege to ride a AF KX500 snowbike 2 seasons ago and fell in love. It was like riding endless single track.

Anyway with all this talk about boots it got me wondering. Does anyone make a longer toe shifter. I rode around the yard a couple days ago with my HMK's on and it wasn't too bad. But I'm thinking another inch longer shifter and the boots would be fine.

Maybe if it's the kind that breaks back?

I never have and trouble shifting in snowmo boots with stock lever, but have had it stick back in the breakaway position in deep snow before. Went to grab another gear and nothing there.

So guess it could be a problem in deep snow?

Had that happen a few weeks ago from a stick. I thought the spring arm was broken because I couldn't shift it.

I've got a longer lever on my Honda and its rough to switch gears. You'd think boots would fit better and they do, but you have to move your foot further when shifting. Very easy to find nutral when you expect second!

I have size 14 boots and run a Hammerhead shifter with the longest offset tip they offer on my Honda. I think it's +20 mm with the knurled tip. Works great and still is spring loaded. Didn't have any problems last year not being able to find it.

I use a hammerhead on my KTM's. For the snow I adjust it down a touch from where I like it in the dirt. I ride with Klim Boa's, don't have any problem. I'm using the longest lever Hammerhead makes (I think) with a fold back peg.
