I was just talking with my dad about this last week. He said, "Ya know, I think is should probably pick up a new quick drive belt. It's the original belt and it seems a bit lose." The sled has just shy of 10k miles on it! He has the 'if it ain't broke, no need to replace it' mentality.
Just because you can do it, doesn't mean it's a good idea. I bought a Toyota pickup with 320,000kms on a timing belt with a 150,000 kms replacement interval. So it made it that far....possibly had more in it?? But it's pretty tough to recommend that as a good plan. This is the info im seaking, not, i think you should change your belt, i wanna hear real world numbers or what caused failures. My 16 belt still looks great, no cracks, loose fibers or chipped cogs plus i never jump or shock load the sled.
