Seattle and Portland are forecast to have a fairly typical winter with precipitation averaging out near normal. However, it will be a wet start to the season and frigid end. Near- to slightly above-average snowfall is expected in the Cascades.

oops!!

Thought I had a current one... looked at the post cross-eyed or something when I read the date...

there is still hope, can you really depend on a weather forecast 3-4 months before winter even starts.

Wooly Bear/Bugger Caterpillars have been used to predict winters... not sure of the origin, but have seen claims that it is 80% accurate (channel 13 weather last year). There is variation between each, but I guess if you see 100 you could take the average? Last year the only one I saw with definitely more orange than black (both sections combined); was near the railroad tracks so I had to assume that it came from the eastern states since they had a bad winter.

I work outside and actually had calipers… it is hard to measure them cause they roll up when you touch them.

All orange and all black on the same year; must be an election year.

I need some snow :face-icon-small-dis
