Long ND diesel lines?

Not sure where to put this post, I heard that there have been long lines for diesel at Jamestown, Dickinson, etc., primarily because of all the out of town traffic now common to ND from the oil rush. I heard there was a day wait in Jamestown this past summer. Is this true? I'm guessing I should bring an extra yellow diesel can.

Go Bison!!

Eric

Its true in fargo. Diesel has been a shortage for most of the yr. Not on common to see trucks backed up 6-8 blocks

is that real? i haven't noticed anything real unusual in minot or bismarck. maybe 1 or 2 trucks in line but nothing crazy.

I fill twice a week here in Minot and never had a problem. It is busy at the register though.

Go Sioux!

Glad I have my 46 gallon auxillary tank in the box of the truck I think we'll just drive right on through!!

if you stay along I94 you shouldnt have trouble. i dont make it east of bismarck allll that often, but it isnt too bad coming out west. the key is not to fill at the stations that are set up for big trucks. drive a block off of the interstate and fill at a smaller station. and my suggestion would be to fill in dickinson and drive as far west as you can before filling. get the hell out of the oil patch!

bismarck - no wait

small stations between bis and dickinson - 5 min AT MOST

dickinson - its possible to wait 10+, but 95% of the time you will get through in under 5

belfield (15mi west of dick) - this is a busy area. wouldnt recommend filling here. might get through in 5 min.....might wait for 20 min

beach - smaller facility. have never had to wait there, but iv only been through it a couple of times in the last year

someone from MT will have to chime in on the rest of the way...

Thanks for the 411 everyone. From my buddies house on the south edge of the Twin Cities it's about 892 miles via I-90 to Billings and about 890 miles via I-94. It's a toss up to me because I-90 seems to be rougher and has some jumps, both summer and winter with expansion/contraction, doesn't seem to matter.

Has the traffic on I-94 picked up to the point where you are dodging tractor trailers like I-80 across Nebraska? I-80 is insanely busy going to the Snowies.

Well there is no denying that traffic has increased....especially in the order of semis. However, it is nothing that has ever made any trip of mine take longer in the western part of the state.

I was talking about the semi gas haulers. They sit in line for 6-8 hrs to fuel up to bring to the gas stations. Alot of farmers struggled this fall to find fuel for their eqioment.

I would go with I-94. I've traveled both more times than I can count and overall 94 is flatter. Makes a difference when you're pulling the whole time. And I still think that even with all the new oil related traffic that 90 is still busier than 94.

There is no line at my rig in nd. I just pull up and fill er up. Ha ha sorry ya I know in small towns by Dickinson its a wait for fuel.
