Lone Survivor (Marcus Latrell) navy seal

Are any of you familiar with this book? It's one he!! of a read if you're not. I just found out that they are going to make a movie about it. Finally, we might get a true account of something that actually occured with our troops. Jon Voight, a known conservative, has helped Marcus with this film endeavor, and says that good people are making it. I hope so. I found all this info on Glenn Beck tonight, very good watch if any of you care to watch the later airing. Marcus and other veteran's are on a vet's for freedom tour, and talked about going to the hill to meet with the representatives. Guess which ones refused to listen, and walked away. Let's just say they're the same ones who say we can support our troops, while not supporting the war.

That was an incredible book - unbelievable that Marcus survived and too bad about the rest of the Seal Team. Michael Murphy was recently awarded the Medal of Honor by Pres. Bush (posthumously) for his heroics. I won't give that part away, but what a soldier! You are correct that this story and many more like it don't get told but should be.

Yep - excellent read. Being ex-Navy, I'm familiar with the SEALs, well, as familiar as any non-seal is allowed to be, and even knowing what they go through in training, when you read his account of training and deployment, part of your brain just refuses to accept that this is what they really do.

My son is reading it now for a high school project.

Go Navy. To all service men and women, thank you for your sacrifice.

All gave some - some gave all.
