Logan Avy Story

According to the avalanche center the kid wasn't even wearing a beacon, the party had 1 shovel yet it was buried, and I'm going to make the assumption no one had probes? That kid is very very lucky to be alive. If you can afford to sled you can afford avalanche gear. I don't understand why people go into the backcountry and don't have any gear and some don't know how to use it. Please use your heads get the gear, learn how to use it, and stay away from those big hills.

Reading that just makes me sick. EVERYONE in the group needs avalanche gear on their bodies at all times. I'm greedy, I Need YOU to be able to find and extract me in 10 minutes or less. It will be real hard to do if I'm the only one with a beacon shovel and probe and end up buried.....

normally I think Snowest is too hard on guys for not being prepared, but everyone knows the rodeo grounds slides!! And climbing the hill when someone is stuck! LUCKY, and I'm grateful they were, as I'll need luck to shine on me at some point raising my boys!

The 3...

Basic tools...Beacon, Probe, Shovel in that order. Lets hope they take this lesson to heart and spend $300.00 each for the tools they need to "help" protect themselves AND their friends from the next adventure.
