Lodges in the Methow or Naches?

Hey guys and gals,

I'm looking for a place to send my parents for a night or weekend as a Christmas gift from my brothers and I. I've found a few online (whistlin' jack in naches and Mountain Springs Lodge out of Leavenworth), but I was wondering if some of you could post your experiences with those or suggest some others that you've enjoyed staying at.

I'd want it to be fairly nice... and maybe around $200 a night or so at most. Somewhere that has food would be good too... a nice restaurant or what not.

Thanks in advance, Bryce

Whistlin Jack is nice, but a little dated. A variety of rooms and cabins to choose from. The downside is no TV, no phone/cell service.

Great music in the bar Thur/Sun eves. Don has been playing there for something like 18 years. They have a prime rib buffet on Thur.

Good place if they want seclusion, hiking, etc.

If they want shopping and more restaurants to chose from, Leavenworth is good, but crowded during the holiday season.

maybe try...

Depending on what you are really after, you may want to check out the chewuch river ranch. Cabins, hot tubs, and sledding. Probably your best bet to finding any snow too. Its rustic, close to downtown winthrop.

Whistlin' Jacks

What do your parents like to do? If they are sledders and are not locals there are rentals available close to WJ's. Also there is phone sevice, just not cell service. The cabins are very nice. I live 20 minutes from WJ's and even my wife and I have rented them with friends to hang out up there and ride from the front door in the winter. On an average winter you can ride from there by Christmas.

I would go with the Methow. The Chewack ranch is nice. Wolf creek lodge is cool too. Go to the winthrop home page, thers a ton of listings. Oh yah, Sun Mountain's a rip off, not sledder friendly, 20 min from town and no sledding within 30 to 40 min.

I should have mentioned that...

They live in Mattawa (Near Tri-Cities), and have their own sleds that they'll haul wherever we send them, they just haven't ever done any overnight trips around here so we thought that would be fun for them. It'd definitely be nice if they could sled from the room. And we probably won't send them until January or February, so hopefully by then snow won't be an issue.
