Locking tailgate for theft prevention

While riding in Priest Lake this weekend my Superclamps were stolen while out riding. They were under the sled deck with the tailgate shut. Anybody have any locking ideas for the bed? Been thinking a bit redneck and a chain from the trailer hitch to the bars on the beavertail so the tailgate can't open all the way. Anybody do anything different?

Really glad I had extra tie downs in the bed that weren't stolen. Had to be sledders being goons cause nothing else was gone. Anyway, any ideas??

I dont remember the company, but I bought a lock for my Chev truck tailgate, now have a ford with a factory lock. Do some searching and you will find them. On the flip side, whoever did this should be ashamed.. What a load of BS. Sorry to hear about your loss, just makes me furious to think anyone involved in our sport would do something like this, god help the SOB if I ever catch em... I guarentee it will be a long ride.

SnoPark bandits strike again

My pickup was broke in to Sunday at Kings Lake. They got my Superclamps also and my iphone for good measure. Nothing else was touched. No way they could have seen the clamps on the back seat floor, my sled covers were over them. Definitely sledders, the only way they would have known the clamps were in there is by recognizing the small hoop on the trailer the clamps connect to. No one else was touched in the lot. Received and estimate today to fix the pickup - $950, replace clamps - $350 to $400 (likely won't, not sure where to hide 'em other than throwing them in the woods and leaving the truck unlocked to prevent the smash n grab), replace iphone $250 to $650 depending on used or new. Checked Craigslist today, could not believe the back alley bazaar for used iphones. I should be able to buy my phone back from there. (goes with out sayin' that I'll never leave electronics in the rig again) Dammit were vulnerable out there and I am not sure how to mitigate the risks! My expensive hobby just got more expensive.

We sell locks for most chevy trucks

Not sure what kind of truck you have but I know we sell tailgate locks for most chevy's.

I have an idea now......... Need the brother to weld a small piece or 2 of aluminum together and a trailer hitch lock.....

Got home and realized they also took an extra shovel with probe I took with me.

go to geno's garage online...they got all sortsa goodies there...i ended up getting a locking latch that replaced my stock one. was like 20 bucks or less...works fantastic. easy squeezy to install

My 05 silverado has a folding tonneau cover and locing tailgate that was a factory upgrade when the original owner purchased the truck. You could ask your dealer. Mine looks factory and works great.

try geno's first. might as well bend over and take it up the......when you go to a dealer for the most part....WAY overpriced. my dodge dealer wanted $164 for a block heater cord that...i got for $11.25 new from geno's...and it was the actual better quality fleetguard one at that...

that being said....Dan at Jet Johnson sells parts...and I was actually really impressed with the price he was selling misc sled parts for. if you have a chevy and want a factory one...might start there
