Back home from a weekend of sledding in the fernie region. On Saturday Dec-03-11 some lowlife felt that my superclamps would be better served on his trailer, and that some other guy's sled cover would be nice as well.
It's a real shame people can't just leave other peoples stuff alone. I have always just left them in the box of my truck and never had a problem, I guess I have learned my lesson.

Big thanks to the guy's from Kamloops who gave us some tie downs so we were able to get back to town, would of had to tie things down with an extension cord if not for him.

Anyhow I'm hoping it is an isolated incident but just in case, these douche bags are in the area be safe and lock everything up.

what are the snow conditions like in fernie, is there lots at harvey pass,rolling hills,what about back in by the purrly gates, we are heading out on the 26th,to fernie or revy

We've learned that if you have US plates then you will get targeted. Most of the CDN rding areas are rural and just like in the US, rural areas are full of tweekers. We haven't had problems in established snowparks, but along the highway, you need to be extra careful. We were in a group of five trucks along the highway near Blue River and only my US truck was broke into. It was not obvious at first, but found credit cards missing later and they had aready bought $1200 of junk on QVC. They'll take anything that they can convert to cash, like your superclamps. Canada is a wonderful place full of wonderful people, but they too have low life tweekers.

We were in Sicamous, BC last week staying at the Best Western and some ballzy bastard stole a Ford truck with sled deck and two snowmobiles. Truck was found nearby without snowmobiles. The truck was parked right outside the rooms. Hotel has a full video security system so there is some hope that thiefs will be caught.
