Locations for Sled Skiing/Boarding in Washington

I'm pretty new to sled skiing/boarding (even though I've been snowboarding since 1986) and I'm looking for good locations. Now..I know it might be like asking a fisherman for his best fishing spot but I would appreciate any info you're willing to share. I live in Kennewick and travel to yakima/wenatchee and Tollgate for sledding. Are there decent opportunities here that I don't see when I'm riding in the normal areas? I've seen stuff near Superbowl in Ahtanum Meadows that would be decent but short.
This is the only reason I purchased a sled last year and now that my snowmobiling skills are improving, I'm looking forward to pulling some powder turns on my board!
Thanks in advance for any info you provide.

just hit your sled zones locally and search out run routes..
we spend alot of early season time searching out runs for later when the base develops.. out where u are i have no idea..
anywhere u can take your sled tho u can find runs.. just need a good tandem partner like Sled2Shred.. he has a back rest for you.

You will be surprised when you really start looking around how much there is. Wait until it gets deep, you'll find the goods right under your nose. Look at areas sleds don't like because of cliffs, or no bottom for a sled.

I'll give you one of my favorite tow spots - Cooper. Go to the end of the groomie. You can pull guys to the top of a huge bowl then traverse to the left if your looking up hill as high as you can go. It's full of nice lines and little cliffs, snomo's stay out for the most part. It's not for the faint at heart. Theres about 1500 vert and very quick tows and less than 30 min from the truck. We need a few more feet of snow before it's good. Have fun!!

Thanks for responding guys. I will definately be keeping my eyes open this winter. With our La Nina snow pack, there should be plenty of runs available!

we defenitely need more snow.. although its been dumping alot here in WA. the trees keep growing and we need more and more to really get at it..

thanks for the french cabin tip!! i ride cooper and la sac but never french cabin.. have to check it out when we get the snow piling up finally..

ya know. if they would just chop down more trees the greenies wouldn't complain about us hitting them all the time.. :face-icon-small-hap

You don't have the Stihl mounted on the sled yet? :face-icon-small-hap

i'm kinda stoked to check out french cabin next week now :D haha

I have yet to bring the board out but i've def kept my boarding eyes open. Found a few spots out of my house in Easton, hoping to check out French Cabin and Blewett (i know of a good long 1800ft run at blewett but want to scope some more) in the next couple weeks

Hey guys I gave BAD INFO!! I got French Cabin confused with COOPER!! I'm really sorry, they are very close together. I have the same advice though, It's a great spot for tandem or towing.

Have fun and be safe! EE

ahh yes, i know where you're talking about at Cooper then.. there is a few fun zones and a couple hidden ones if you know where to go.. LOTS of trees though too.. best off just going to La Sac if you're already out there

The best riding/skiing/boarding in the state is in Winthrop (the Methow) when they have snow IMO. I was just there for a week and it's getting deep. There are so many places to go up there, have fun!!
