Little pin on throttle lever?

What exactly does this pin do? Why if not depressed will the sled not idle? Does this make it so you can't use an aftermarket throttle lever?

throttle safety switch. If your cable sticks or your throttle bodies stick open it will kill the engine if the lever pushes in the pin.

This is a safety item that should not be bypassed, period!

If you insist on bypassing it, at a minimum, you need to ride with a tether. That said, you should not bypass it.

That switch is there to avoid a run away sled with throttle if you get bucked off. I would not mess around with that or you can end up with a situation like Chris Burandt...

Make sure you read the service manual to know what this switch is for and how it should be adjusted.

Ouch, that hurt. Everyone who rides in the mountains should have a tether kill switch. If you don't have one go get one so that doesn't happen to you.
