I posted this in the general section, but Utah guys, this is rediculous. I rode out of Nobletts today and came across 2 different blown belt debris piles just laying in the trail.

Soap Box On

Ok, I was out on the mountain today and came across belt debris twice. I'm really getting sick and tired of snowmobilers being pigs in the outdoors. Riding up the trail... "mmm, what's that black tangle in the trail... oh a broken belt".

It's simple really, if you blow a belt stuff the pieces in your seat pouch, back pack, under the pipe in the belly pan, even up your arse for all I care, just don't leave it laying in the snow on the mountain.

Man I hear ya. When we came off the Hwy 150 it looked like one of those ski jumps where they spread the pine needles for a visual. Except it was lugs and belt debris. Maybe a lot of rental peeps I guess.

I'm always stopping to pick up stuff. Just yesterday I picked up 3 Natural Light cans, 2 water bottles and one pair of socks. Tunnel bag must have been open.

Pack it in and pack it out. Don't give sledders a bad rap.:o

I wish that it was that easy.
All it takes is a group or two of some rednecks on their old busted A$$ sleds that think that they can dump their crap anywhere they want and we all get the bad rap.

I feel the same way, I picked up some hot pocket wrappers and some spark plug boxes on Wed. How hard is it to pick up after your self.

Makes me sick:mad:

Thank you for the reminder sled guy. My guess is that the majority of the people that are giving sledders a bad rep, are not 4m members. Sometimes it seems like the group that I ride with are always stuck on trash duty:mad: But unfortunately, if we don't compensate for what others lack...we'll all be on the sidelines. One other point, The parking lot is not the local landfill! Some days it's embarrassing to me to be a sledder:mad::mad: Yes, we need to pack it out, but don't deposit it at the parking lot. That's the first place that others are going to see, and they will form their opinions of us as a whole based on that.
Oh yeah, one more thing... If that belt you found was from a ski-doo XP, don't worry about it. They are bio-degradable. It will be completely decomposed by spring:D:D:D:D
Holy crap!!! I'm just kidding:D

Seeing someones litter just thrown where they finished with it always pisses me off. How freakin lazy are these azzwipes? Come on people, take a little initiative. Litter gives us all a bad rap. Especially in the parking lot. How hard is it to put in your truck or trailer.

Remember the Indian crying? Nuff said.

Good post Dan, but you wont ever see my litter Im not a trail rider;). Joke for those who dont know Dan is my friend, and I pack out what I pack in!

great post s'guy!
but like i said on your thread over in general, id bet peeps on this forum probably arent the problem.
just make sure we do the right thing, and encourage others to do the same.

Rental peeps are required to bring their blown/burnt belts back otherwise they are charged $100 for them.

This is a great point, I get sic of seeing other peoples trash in my back yard, and yes rental people get charged for the belt if they don't bring it back but not the other trash they leave behind.

Hey Adam, you ready to ride.:D
BTW; can I back charge you for sled rescue? hahahha:eek:

Ron-I had three days last week I couldn't find anyone willing to ride with me. Either I am a real loser or people are real lame.:) Anyways I am always ready to ride. Yesterday really sucked, new snow, sunny skies and I sat and watched people head up onto the mountain all day!:(

If you pull out a stuck sled I'll buy your lunch and a coffee!:beer;

LMAO, I have seen some funny chit on those rentals.
Best: saw two guys stuck in a meadow. One laying on the hood and the other bouncing on the seat. They were shocked when we rolled up and said get off the sled. Brother in law pulled the ski and I throttled it out.

Worst: had a lady and her husband stuck. Belt burned up and buried to the ground. She was so upset that after I rode her sled out and picked her up and rode double to the road, she refused to ride it back to the lodge (crying hysterically). I calmed her down and sent her in the right direction. She insisted I show up for free dinner and drinks. None of that, just helping out.

Call Marc about that cabin in Uinta Lands (temp power one).

We'll be up again next weekend if you want to get out. And yes, Sat. was off the hook.:face-icon-small-ton
