Im from north idaho im going to the school in boise at northwest lineman school i get out in dec. i love it so far i fell down one of the poles to day that suck it was just 15 feet but still. how you like it you from the us or up there im looking to get a job maybe up there:D

I really love it, we do alot more than just climb, we do alot of equipment operating too(digger trucks, back hoes, skid steers). I cant say ive ever fell off a pole before haha, we only use Gelco 4 belts, and secondary safety belts when we need to belt over something, so its pretty difficult to fall.

I'm a seventh step apprentice in Minnesota in the Missouri Valley program. I've been doing linework for a little over three years. I like my job for the most part. We do get to run a lot of cool equiptment on the job. Are you guys required to wear straps like that on your climbing belts, Chern? Never seen one like that, but it looks like it'd kinda be a pain to climb with.

I'm a lead lineman at a cooperative in minnesota, 18 years now. Good luck on your career choice. I like it most of the time. :beer; for you

Yea, its a OHS requirement here in Canada. Its called the Gelco 4, if you lose your footing and fall it tightens around the pole and doesnt slide. Its the only thing ive ever really climbed with so i cant comment on weather it is more difficult or not than just a leater belt
