The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory above 6500 feet... which is in effect from
midnight tonight to 3 PM MDT Monday.
Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches... locally up to 5 inches
are expected above 6500 feet.
A cold upper level trough of low pressure will move over the
northern rockies region tonight and Monday driving snow levels
down to 6500 feet. Precipitation will be increasing overnight and
then continue through the day Monday resulting in some light
accumulating snow over the higher mountains along the Continental
Divide.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and cold
temperatures will create difficult conditions for outdoor
enthusiasts recreating in the higher terrain of western Montana.
Persons should prepare for unseasonable cold and wet conditions if
planning trips into the mountains.
