Limiter Strap Tightness

Hey guys I just got a 07 summit X-RS and spent the day doing a few easy mods and tricks.
Moved the ECU, removed plastic clutch guard, Moved handle bars.
The first ride I had with the sled it felt really front end heavy. I've done some research on the limiter strap and from what I could tell you should loose it up to get more weight transfer to the back of the sled. Well I went to loose it up today and it was on the 4th hole and was nice and snug. Pulled the bolt out and was able to get it would with out much trouble, I went to the 2nd hole and installed the bolt, the strap is now loose and there is alot of slack.....is this the way it is suppose to be? From what I read i thought there should be some pressure there.... first timer here

Thanks Guys

~Scottie

Some slack is fine, just find what works for your riding style. Too loose on the Rev and you'll just wheelie and trench everywhere.

I ran my straps as tight as i could get them on my rev. I had them a little bit loose and was climbing a steep steep hill, hit a tiny bimb and the sled went straight up in the air, twisted and back down into the trees. After i fixed her i put them as tight as possible, and never had the problem again. So i would say it all depends on you riding style. If you like wheelies, and not steep hills i would go looser. If you like the steep and deep go tighter.

You should tighten them to the point that you have enough ski pressure when you are on the trails, so you don't slide through a corner. Or when you are trying to turn on harder packed snow and touch the gas the skis will still stay down and turn. From there, when you are climbing, or are in looser or deeper snow, you can get more or less ski pressure by body position.

Just my two bits, but it works for me! :beer;

I also was wondering about the limiter strap setup. I have a 2005 Rev Summit 151. My limiter was at the loosest hole. Tonight I put it at the middle hole. How tight should the adjuster screw be? And what is stock position for my sled? Thanks......
