new 09 d8 out for a break in ride tonite ran awsome for about half a hour then lights would dim then a few seconds later inst panel would go out then 10 or 15 seconds the motor would die . no start . wait a minute or two and would start every thing working , go a mile or two and same thing again . its going to dealer tomorrow but dont always beleive their answers,i think the people on this forum know more than the dealer most of the time . any ideas ???? stator? thanks

The jam nut on my idle screw wasn't tight so mine wouldn't idle when it was warm.

if the engine rpm is low enough the body relay will shut off killing all power to the guages, lights and such...if you hold the throttle can you keep it idling?..if so i would agree with mag..idle screw came loose............

posible prob

if it will do it at home try this test take off your plastic belt cover and find the orange wires on the voltage reg and unplug them and then start it and see if it still does it
had to do that to save my ecu the day my reg went out

voltage regulator first guess...second, is the stator....polaris has had a number of vr go out, in some cases taking the stator or ecu with them...good luck, hope it's not too serious....but better than being in a nasty spot...

buddies 08 d8 did this last year once when we were way back in and i mentioned to him of the crappy routing of wires, pulled the clutch cover and the wires goin to the vr were rubbing on the gaurd and the block, got it back together and was good, he stripped it down and found to more bads spots under the air box
