Light-Weight Seat for the Nytro

Does anyone know what light-weight after-market seats are available for the Nytro? I have had mine off a couple of times and it seems fairly light so I am wondering if the after market has anything lighter to offer and if the weight savings would be worth the money. Opinions???

Thanks in advance

will they be making a non boosted under tunnel exhaust to go with that seat? or are we on our own? 700 bux seems pretty steep for a seat too. but, what are you gonna do? ski

yes mountian mod just finished one for a under tunnel exuast not to sure the weight saving but i have one at the shop i will weigh it and post back, one thing is for sure when you want to shave some weight ur going to pay ts just like installing the bling,bling

Aint' that the truth. lots of 2 smokers whine about the cost of a turbo 4 stroke, but 30-40% of the cost in our sleds is the add on's to make them look good and perform good as well. I've got a boss seat on order, be interesting to see how they attach to the sled. wouldn't mind a mt mod, but at 750 bones as opposed to the 500 for the boss.

are they making a seat for under tunnel exhaust, or a seat and exhaust combo? do they have plans for a under tunnel exhaust? ski

Stock seat is fairly light..not much to it. I ran a mountain mod seat most of the season and its a very nice improvement....its 2 inches higher and the foam density is much better. It comes in a tad lighter than the stocker, there wasnt much in the means of weight savings to be had.....we were looking for higher and comfort....not sacked out water soaked foam. Murrays seats are top notch for sure. Havent seen his new trunk back one yet but for certain guys storage will be a nice addition. He told me hes working with Neils pipes to make a under tunnel exhaust, already has a stamped aluminum piece to cover the tunnel hole up...should be a nice combo.

I've had my Nytro seat off several times and it is quite small and light. It is more similar to a dirt bike seat than a traditional snowmachine type. I wouldn't mind if my seat was 1-2" taller. Also I noticed the foam broke down a bit after 1900 miles. Aside from that no real complaints. I would like a trunk, but don't know if that's practical with the exhaust?

I wouldn't spend $750 for an aftermarket Nytro seat. I'd have a hard time justifying $500 for a Boss (even though I bought one for my Vector last season and love it). I think the aftermarket seat companies need to drop their prices because the OEM stuff has come a long way. I wouldn't say I'm overly impressed with the quality or the resulting fit and finish (to use the stock tail light) of my hi-rise Boss seat but I am impressed with it's lack of weight compared to the stock Vector seat.

i sent neil an email about his under tunnel exhaust. i will report back when he gets with me.

has anyone saw the boss seats for the nytro? website hasnt been upgraded in forever. not too keen on the higher seat, maybe mountain mod can build a standard flattop seat for the nyto?

ski

Murray could build the seat shorter if thats what you want....Its not very hard to get used to the extra height. Hes gone for 6 weeeks over seas....you should call him when he gets back and see if he can build what you want and need.....:beer;
