So where can a person get a light weight battery for the nytros, I see that mpi has one that saves 10 pounds. That is great but are they reliable, I would hate to save weight and sacrifice reliability. I dont want to get in the back country and have my battery screw up, thanks

I looked at interstates web site and I cant find a battery with that part number. If its only 4.9 pounds thats great, I think the stock nytro battery is 14 pounds.

Has anyone actually weighed the stock nytro battery. If these interstate batterys work good then I am definetly getting one as long as they have enuf cold cranking amps to start these in the winter. Especially if they save 10 pounds.

the mpi is a batt cap battery, lots of bad things have been said about them on here, do your research.

as for the batterys, stay with the oem sizes and part numbers, but just go smaller. say if you have a ytz20 in it stock, goto a 10, or a 7 depending on how cold it is where you ride. if you ride where it is super cold (below -20 faranheight at night) you may want to stay full sized, or add a engine coolant heater and plug it in with the smaller batteries.

there are only a hand full of battery makers in the world, they're just marketed under different brand names. they all have similar part numbers for use in multiple applications. quads, pwc's, bikes, sleds, lawn mowers, atv's ect... so look at the series you want and buy the smaller series below it.

i am guessing but from the ytz20 in the nytro to a ytz7 (sealed battery)will be approx 5-8 pounds difference, maybe more. ski

I put the interstate ytz7s in my nytro. I'm pretty sure it had yuasa stamped on it, but I'd have to look again to make sure. Saved 10 pounds and never had a problem in 1500 miles this year. PM me and I can get you a good price.
