Light help for 2013 ktm 450sxf

Hey I'm trying to put a light on my 2013 ktm 450sxf and have no clue what i'm doing. I called baja designs and they said my stator won't work with a light and wanted me to buy a new one from them. Does that seem right? Has anyone put a light on their ktm? if so how did you do it so i can match it. Thanks a ton!

Most MX bikes stators don't put out enough power to use any accessories that draw power like a head light, street legal kit or heated grips. Sometimes you can get away with running one item that doesn't draw a lot of power without getting a new higher output stator.

I have same bike as u. I installed hot grips and Baja Designs light and trail tech stator. U may b able to get away without stator on with some lights but I can't confirm that.

If not drawing power for any other accessories, most any fuel injected bike, even MX bikes, seem to be able to run some good LED lights. Cyclops penetrators are plug and play and, though I haven't used them...yet...seem to be the "go to" lights. Most seem to run one of the 600 series with 6 lights and 30 watt draw (like Rush linked to above), but they also have the 300 series with 3 lights and 15 watt draw. They sell the rectifier you need for tapping into your bikes AC, since LED need DC, or you can wire into your DC circuit (that is in general and not necessarily for your bike). AC legs usually have more juice and with the add on rectifier, that seems the way to go. They will be able to answer any questions for your specific bike.

My 2015 SX450 ran a cyclops 630 just fine last year, with stock stator. Used heated gloves instead of hot grips. I think some have had trouble on a SX trying to run both. Nice thing about heated gloves is you can turn them on low while you are eating lunch with bare hands, and when you slip the gloves on its nice and toasty!

What gloves are you using?

I bought two rigid industries lights with their ktm specific mount bracket, also plan on getting a trail tech stator for some extra juice and to help keep the battery charged. Nothing installed yet, still collecting parts for my 2016 build!

Shouldn't need a higher output stator for lights. Run them off AC leg (just need to add a rectifier if adding LED lights to AC). Plenty of juice and no worries about running down battery on the DC leg.

Great! Good to know! I suppose rigid should have a rectifier to offer?
Is this also applicable for ktm 300 too? Putting together a 300 and 450sx!
