lift/stand

Got one of those cheap orange habor freight hydraulic motorcycle lifts off Craigslist for $20 bucks ,than made some uprights with hooks that attach to lift so I can lift at the rear grab bar , so I can install the kit or spin the track for maitnence , works great under $30 bucks total , I wasnt going to spend $300 bucks for a tradional Timber sled lift .some people even use tie down straps from the ceiling to stabilize handle bars ,during install .

Same here, cheapo motorcycle lift, you can set it to any height so it makes it very easy to get the bike at the same level as the kit for installing the swing arm bolt.

I personally find it much easier to just tip it over on the left hand side and swap out what I need to. For track alignment and such I hang it in the garage or from the rear door spring shaft in the trailer. A sled is not a car and as such I find it no benefit to work on it as such. I have always just tipped it because when I was racing you could swap tracks with the sled on it's side and level and not lose any oil out of the chain case, which made swapping tracks a twenty or thirty minute deal.

Now for building and or assembling sleds it is nice to have a lift or start with it on a coffee table so you don't have to bend over as much, saving back strain.
