To top this off, my son comes home from his 1st day of grade 12 and tells me that they are taking Liberal studies in social studies. Looks like Daddy here might be going back to school as well. I hear ya... I sure hope we are ready for a majority. That's the only way we will get some of these issues resolved. We are making slow progress with the registry, lets not mess it up now!

Admittedly Ignatief is a wee bit less of a boob than Dion.. but a lot of people like him, so we may have had a better shot at a majority against the bumbling frenchman. Too bad our system allows us to go to the polls every few weeks just "cause we feel like it".

Our elections aren't necessarily held at a pre set interval. Our last one was in October last year. Basically as I understand it, and somebody please correct me if i'm full of chit... the Liberal opposition can take it upon themselves to pass a non-confidence vote against the ruling party any time they wish...

That would essentially force the Conservatives to ask the Governor General to dissolve parlement and to call an election. This would be the fourth in five years. It's kind of a big game of political opportunism.

Either way, letting the people decide, ONCE AGAIN, what they want is a lot nicer than just saying "Eff you guys, we're in charge now" like they tried to do in January!
