liberalism is all about lies. they cannot tell you what they really want. the re-define words and talk like the opposite of what they are. when busted on it they argue.

when liberals loose an attempt to deceive you (every time) it's about a 5 step process they go through:
1) Change the subject
2) Bush did "this other thing similar in my tiny liberal mind"
3) You did something...
4) You're a hater...
5) You're racist...

Every step really points to liberal failings. Liberals are the racist, hate-filled people that do terrible things in the name of helping.

I guess I am not that concerned about the patriot act. I know the people who are looking for terrorists. The can search and sieze my property all they want. They won't find anything. And it turns out they won't because they have bigger fish to fry.

I look at the growth of big government and the change in philosphy of states rights and forcing me to do things I don't want to. Excessive enviromental laws force me to buy cars I don't want. They want to force me to buy health insurance for myself and and worse...others and I don't want to do that. They make me buy my energy not from the most economical sourse but the one that they say I should. And the want to tell me where I can and can't ride my sled on public lands.

All in all the big erosion of my quality of life is not going to be the patriot act. It is going to be socialized medicine, Cap and trade and other bull that pushes my job off shore.

I say bring back George Bush even if he spent money like a drunk sailor. At least it wasn't two...And at least he won't throw away the victory in Iraq and realized the turd afganistan will turn into.

I have absolutely no fear in that reguard. Not only will it not happen. The agencies that do that have to interest in doing it. I am sure mistakes have been made. But I will tell you what will happen.

Yours and my quality of life will decrease substantially over the next few years if everything congress wants to push through pass. My guess is that most will. You can sit home pissing and moaning about the patriot act. I will sit home pissing and moaning about my 20% pay cut and the high cost of energy...What actions will REALLY affect you? If you think you are on the FBI's watch list, I would suggest a change in lifestyle...

The problem with the Patriot Act, isn't what it does today. It's the slippery slope problem. For example, the Interstate Commerce Act and the Commerce Clause of the Constitution, seems very logical at first reading. But, now consider where it went. It's what keeps you from manufacturing a gun without a federal license. It's used in civil rights. It controls anything you could possibly manufacture, even if it never crosses state lines, because there's a possibility it might cross state lines. Even the materials used to manufacture, are controlled, because they may have crossed state lines. And, then it gets extended to labor, and safety, ect....... Everything can be connected to instate commerce, if you want to go that far.

Now, if a group of crazies gets elected, (and I think I have evidence this is entirely possible) how could the Patriot Act be used and extended? There's no limit, that's the problem.

I agree, energy costs, and federal polices are a huge deal. But, you can't let one thing slide, because it will become the one thing ever future law is based off of.

All the Amendments are important but you have to admit the Is't and Second Amendment's are our real problem under Bo's administration and the 10th has been totally misused under most administrations. The Fourth hasn't been generally been misused but yes it could be under the Patriot Act. I thought the libs were the ones who wanted it changed, well they have the brass nuts now but they are more interested in Cap and Trade and such ways to steal more money instead.

Anytime you give the federal government power they will exand on that power you gave them.
Commerce is a great example, SS and Welfare are 2 other ones.
Social Security was intended to be a savings account for the workers of america. It would force you to save money and the federal government would manage the SS fund and see to the proceeds being distributed when the time comes. Look what happened, they moved the account from a set aside to the general fund to pay for Carters spending plans, now the plan is broke and they tell us we have to step up and pay even more to cover the governments incompitence. It used to be that you only got out what you put in plus interest (that was what was intended), now they increase it for inflation to the point that if you retired today you will get back everything you put in plus interest in 1 - 2 years. It was intended to be a cushion to ensure that when you got too old to work you have SOMETHING. This came out of the great depression.

If you give them an inch, they will take 6 miles. They simply expand the powers beyond all reason.

The problem in washington is the fact the politicians believe their own press reports.
They listen to the liberal media and the highly paid special interests as to what the people want.
If you want something to pass all they have to do is grease a few palms and get the proper poll results and you get it.
That is why when the american people actually take the time to contact their reps personally (via phone) it matters so much. All the politicians lose touch with reality right up to the point of the people that elected them screaming in their ears.
Why do you think the health care debacle is going down. There are politicians that will knowingly go against the best wishes of their constituants, but most won't.
Why do you think Palosi and Reid are fighting tooth and nail to NOT give the public 72 hours to read and analyze the final draft?
They know america will scream and it will scare the #ell out of washington.
Same thing happened the last time they tried to pass amnesty. They had the votes, right up till the general public laid down the hammer.
It takes personal action to keep your politicians in line.
It takes the effort to get informed as to what the person you are voting for actually stands for.
Bottom line, till american's stand up and take the time and effort to get involved and figure this stuff out themselves instead of letting the press tell them what to think, nothing will change.
