how did you attach the air antake to your hood? since you don't have one of their hoods? because my hood is from menztoys not from them. do you think it was worth the 80 bucks or should I try and fab my own out if aluminum?

it attaches the same way your windshield attaches. you put the windshield through the slits int he intake piece, then the o-ring holds the plate (and windshield) on. easy.

it was worth it imo.. I then put flow rites in my dash (around the tach).
that and the 'forced air' setup worked great for a ram air down the trail! :D
and kept good air to the airbox in the deep.

if your hood has the slits cut to install your windshield, it'll work.

mine doesn't have the slits in it. it is solid...I pmed the guys that built it to see if they make somthing similar. Im sure i could modify one like yours to work but I will try and find a proper one first. thanks for the reply.

anyone else have any ideas?

hey there again. I was thinking about this and the best way seems just to drill holes in the vents and cover with prefilter, and get some flowrites for the dash. the stock intake is pretty resticting compared to having no attachment just many vents. but then theres the issue of the air warming up before it gets to the airbox. I would make a cowl to go on the airbox and go up a few inches to the dash then cut the dash and put prefilter/flowrites in it.

I put 2 large flowrites on the top part of my lexan hood, 4" I believe. They are on the flat part that sits pretty much horizontal right above the intake on the airbox. I also drilled a bunch of 1/4" holes in the part where the tach an speedo would go, the holes are very close to the top of the airbox and i have the stock little spongy prefilter pad on the top of the airbox too. Seems to work ok so far. This has to flow more/better air than stock I would assume...I think

I have all my vents drilled and they turned out really good. I was leaing towards building a cowl for it. I was thinking i would do it the same way as the one in the link so the whole headlight / gauge area would be blocked off from the hot air from the motor. I drilled the vent holes on the sides where the stock air intakes are, and I plan on cuting a rectange out where the gauges would go, and putting pre-filter like foam in it. I know it will flow awsome im just not sure on what material or how i should build the cowl. Im not sure where to buy plastic, and aluminum might be a bit over kill. 8 all the way do you have any pictures

Sorry man, lost my digital camera:mad:, so no pics. Are you talking about a cowl from the top of the airbox to the vents you made in the hood? That was an idea i had but i haven't got that ambitious about it yet. I'v thought about some sort of ducting to seal off the rest of the underhood area from the intake, just not sure how to go about it...yet.

I also have twins on it so id like to keep as much of the heat they give off away from the intake and try to keep them hotter, as the sled only runs good when the pipes are reeeaaaallly hot
