Lexan hood lockdown options

So I have a lexan hood and I need to figure out a way to secure it. The stock rubber things are alright but im wondering if there are other "better" ways to secure the hood. My theory is most hoods break/crack when they are flexed or bent when the rubber hood latches release. So I was thinking about installing a few (4) ratcheting buckles like on a ski boot or snowboard binding. Or even use quick connect buckles and webbing that I can cinch down.

Any thoughts? Ideas? or should I just use the KISS theory and forget it?

I have found that in the past that the style of hold down that works the best, has a rubber strap from the belly pan to a metal peg that attaches to the hood works best and i buy them from mountain fit hoods in spokane washington and ive rolled my sleds alot with those hoods and those straps and never break them unless it hits hard and then it doesnt matter whats it holding it down!

I love Dzus fasteners. They are a slotted 1/4 turn plastic fastener and come in several colours. The rubber straps would always break and the panels would fly off the drag sled at 130mph. Now we use 4 or 5 Dzus fasteners on each panel and no more flying panels.
