Lets see your tool-boxes. Need ideas for mine to work with sled deck and stacks....

So guys i need some help and ideas. I have a modded and partially restored 93 cummins i spent all summer working on. I got dual stacks and i was thinking of having toolbox inbetween and then out and around the stacks but dont know how i would have the lid open. Thinking maybe just make it fit between the stacks. But i need some ideas, although i might have just got a idea. But just help give me some ideas please. I am just thinking how to make it so the lid doesnt hit the stacks and make it as big as possible. Im going to have a sled deck on which is a 6ft frame and the box can only be 2ft big at the max,but im going to have it a bit smaller just to grab the lid, i want the tool box in all year around so give me ideas pics and if you've made or have a toolbox with stacks especially requesting help from you. Thanks guys !!

A couple buddies built one for a short box dmax with a weather guard over the rail tool box. The frame and deck are two separate pieces, the frame sits entirely behind the tool box. Then the deck sits on top with six rollers and floats over the tool box. To open the box or unload the sled, you pull a couple pins, slide the deck back, and it tips up similar to a tilt trailer. The ramp only has to be about six feetlong this way. It works super slick. One guy can pivot and slide the deck with two sleds on

Sounds cool im just building a 2 ft tool box and then im buying a deck this weekend that will work for a long or shot box has a 6ft frame and 8 x 8 deck so the frame will fit in the rest of the box. Got any pics of that setup ?

I am just going to go ahead and say it....Get rid of the stacks!

No thanks i like them everyone can have there own opinion. Im turning 17 and have worked my a$$ off to make money and build it to what it is and i like it so im going to leave it. I firgured out a way to make everything work.

A pic of how it is as of about 4 months ago (still have a few little things to finish up and 37'' military tires to put on)

Its easy, two lids hinged at the middle open from each side. Don't forget to post some pics of the finshed project! I like the idea of the deck sliding back to uncover the tool box and then tilt but that sounds extra heavy and spendy.
