let me know what ya think
I like it, who will build me a hitch high enough for my truck with an 8 inch lift.
robertyoke awesome job on your trailer. heres to ya
awesome
Looks like you sat down and put a little thought into that. Excellent job.
To the rest of you who thinks doing this is a waist of time and money, you don't know what the #$%^ your talking about. I've pulled all kinds of combinations out there and the only one that works greatly is a goose neck. Don't know why Triton or the other trailer makers don't do this from the factory.
I'm not buyin' that. How much closer to the P-up do you think your going to get? 6 inches. Looks to me like it would actually be farther from the pickup. Not only the fact that adding anything to the v in front will add weight (not to mention the weight of the gooseneck) which will drag down your fuel economy, the extra will act like a sail in a cross wind, actually lowering the milleage. Better fuel milleage, not a chance.
With that said, I do see the advantage of putting a little weight on the stear axle, that was never a question, but if all you want is a level truck 150 bucks will buy airbags and a couple of 3 dollar sandbags in the front of the bed and you still have room for ski-doo parts
too bad your so far away, id do it for ya! this one has about 15 inches clearance to the bed rail so dependant on the tire size could get away with probably a 6 inch lift max but i could have made it any hight i wanted...bty my truck is stock hight with 34 inch rubber (245/70 r 19.5)
thanks!
thanks
just little bit of thought..really just wanted a place for my generator.
i did look for a drive in drive out trailer that was a gn before i bought this trailer but i couldnt find one..unless you go full custom. $$$$$
there is a big diffrence when the weight is 6 inches in front of the axle or 4 and half feet behind the axle.
all together it added about 300 lbs or so w/o the generator/tank and the total truck trailer is 4 inches shorter overall. funny thing is now the truck isnt sittin on the overloads like it was before even with the 300 lbs and 100 for the gen.
