Let the job cuts begin.

Less than 12 hours after the announcement and it has already started.

The dental office my wife works for has been prepping a piece of dirt for a new office and a big expansion...........as of 6:00 a.m. today they have mothballed the project........this is only the beginning.

So have we. We are also thinking about sending our manufacturing off shore. If that happens, we will have close to 180 poeple out of jobs....

WHAT! but, but, but, king obama promised no more jobs would go offshore.

You just have to tell you boss he can't do that.

Seriously though.
People have no idea of the chitstorm that is about to hit this country.
Been here, done this. It ain't gonna be pretty.

We are hoping that we do not have to resort to it, but it may be a fact of life. We have to maintan a certain profitability and currently our margins are very thin due to our competitors have their manufacturing off shore. The potential tax increase will wipe out the rest of our margins.

The sad thing is the median years of employment per employee is 25 years. And that is out of 180 people!

With the Bush tax cuts, we added 13500 square feet of manufacturing space, added 20 jobs, bought american made processing equipment. etc...

I am truely hoping that Obama was all talk about his tax plan, but I am doubtful.

Taxes

But his plan only taxes the rich, O but there are the guys that own the companies or invest in existing ones to allow growth.

Also you might as well scrap all of you rec vehicles. There won't be any access before too long. Trade them in for hiking boots.

I am PRAYING that I made the right move with my job.

The oil and gas industry in the rockies is going to come to a screeching hault.

I am just hoping to god that my new employer doesn't tell me not to start work for them next week.

I don't even wanna think about how many tens of thousands of people in the oil and gas industry are gonna lose their jobs (again) in the next 6 months because of some asshat democrat president.

The company I work for laid off 30 this morning. This is only the begining I am told by the CEO.:mad:

I had a customer in my office yesterday. He said if "O" won he figures he would have to lay off 30-40 people out of 170 just to make it with the "O" tax plan.:(
With that in mind, I will loose between $12,000 to $15,000 in income from lost sales to his company next year.

There are going to be a lot of eyes on the unemployment numbers. If they keep slipping in the wrong direction maybe the administration will get a clue and realize they are stifling business.

Dogmeat.......your lucky your not in the coal business.

Actually, even with Obama clamoring on and on about how he wants to bankrupt the coal industry, it'll never happen. Coal = Union. The oilfield doesn't.

The domestic oil and gas industry that has finally re-emerged in the last 10 years will be nothing again in 2 years, mark my words.

I spoke with my accountant this morning. He was on the way to deliver notices to employees of three companies he does payroll for. He estimated his firm had been instructed to layoff over 100 people between today and Friday.

Seems like a pretty fast reaction to me, but he says the CEO of these companies have lived through this before (as Ollie states) they won't get caught in this tax the rich administration twice.

Perhaps when unemployment numbers spike this month those drinking from the Kool aid trough will get a reality check.

It is interesting to hear how in the past 13 hours the countries job outlook has taken such a grim turn.

Where are the Obama faithful to defend him now?

We just received a call, we lost a retirement home project. Project had been approved by the directors, all bids were submitted, approved and now it appears the board of directors has decided to put the project on hold indefinetely. Our contract and all the subcontractor contracts were supposed to be mailed out and finalized this week and now just like that it's gone! We still have a lot of work and this isn't the end of the world, but sure as h#ll isn't a very good start for CHANGE!!
