Lefty Throttle

Tried searching but found nothing...

I am looking at putting a lefty (Goldfinger) throttle on my 04 Summit 800HO Highmark. I have heard of people running in to problems because of the light/warmer control cluster on the left bar.

I've read people have the lefty throttles but can't find any pics or details. Can anyone who has one chime in and let me know what, if any, mods had to be done to make it fit and work with the cluster there. I have read of moving the switches but would much rather avoid doing that!

If you have pics, please post as well. Would help out a lot. Thanks in advance!

Not a fan of the lefty. I get things done with out it. But some of my riding buddies have them and they like them. You dont need to move anything. Once in a while when your using it you may bump a hand warmer switch, BUT HOW MUCH OF A BIG DEAL IS THAT REALLY!! lol

Ya found a pic of install guide and they just slap it right over top of the grip. So, pretty straight forward I'd say hahah. Think I'll order one up.

I have one in the bag till never used Make offer plus shipping and it is yours.

Dang it. That's what I get for getting excited. "Mama always said..." lol. I hit order on it about 5 minutes ago. $99 for Goldfinger from firstplaceparts.com Seemed to be the best priced site I could find.

Order the lefty and a set of WRP Mountain Tuff boards. I liked the cut out picture on the tunnel support so went with them.

Not trying to poach but I have a new SnoBugee Lefty. Best one IMO because of the quick disconnect. Fits perfect on a REV. Paid $150, sell for $75.

I've got the snowbunje lefty on my 07 rev, I dont have any problems with any of the heat controls or anything but it did come on my sled when i bought it. I think the goldfinger levers are a bit more curved than the snowbunjes, looks like it might be awkward to grab onto.

I have a goldfinger on my 05 rev and it has never given me any problems and once you get used to using it you wonder how you ever got by without it. The only thing is to be sure to pop off the riser/handle bar post cover and route the goldfinger cable with as few bends as possible so the cable will move with the least resistance and make the use of the lefty almost as easy as the normal right hand throttle. But other then that it pretty straight forward and simple.

I mounted my goldfinger over my grip and that worked out nice and had to make minor adjustments to the hand guard and that was it. But I had the goldfinger on my 04 rev last year and never found a need to use it. The only problem I found is I have hand guards on the sled and I found if I knocked the guards up or down the right hand guard would connect with the linkage from the left hand throttle and cause a high idle. Other wise it looked nice on the sled. This year I took the goldfinger off.
