Ski,

One of the clubs I belong to is the Leadville Club, contact Clay Stewart, the current president, at 719.486.7311. Leadville is loaded with great, challenging riding areas. Clay can fill you in.

Our club is just down the road from Leadville (Powder Hounds). We ride out of Camp Hale which is the back side of VP but you don't deal with the parking lot and all the crowd. There is also good riding up Champion Mine but there are several avalanche zones up there. You can also come down to the Vail area and ride Red & White. Good mix of terrain. Let me know if you want to go on any club rides with our club. You can join our club as well as Leadville's. You don't have to pay CSA fees for both clubs.

Hagerman Pass, take busk creek while on Turquoise Lake Road, it's usually good early season.

Climax is always fun when the snow is deep.

Leadville is fun during good snow years cuz you can ride from town.

And of course the Manhattan is great too.

Hagerman Pass is a good ride too, but it can be sketchy if the wind load is bad. We did that one year and really had to work through some big drifts to get to the top. Beautiful up there though.
