Lead Dog Helmet Light Help... Who can test mine for me?

Hi All,

After trying nearly every hard wire combination to install this light with no luck, I took the light apart to find that the plug had broken off the bulb... of course! It appears to be a poor design as there is not anything holding the plug to the bulb. I put everything back together and am wondering if there is someone that would be willing to test the light for me? I would ship it to you, with a return (postage paid) envelope included. I would just need you to plug it in your setup and see if it lights up and then toss it in the mail back to me. I live 500 miles from my sled and only have one trip planned to my sled before winter. I would like to wire it during that trip, but I really want to eliminate the chance that the actual light is messed up before that trip. I am pretty sure I can get it going on the wiring part, I just need it tested prior. Let me know if any of you have a lead dog hardwired into your sled and can help me.

Thank you!!!

Brett

can't you just hook it up to a 12 volt battery to test it? Yes, the battery is dc, and you will probably be hooking up your light to an AC circuit on your sled, but the light won't care. Just don't leave it hooked up too long..

I would contact the manufacturer as listed before and see what they think about ways to test the light without your sled.

It should be very easy to test the light from any 12V battery. If you have any alligator clips that will help. You will notice two sections on the lower end of the plug, The ground is the main part of the plug, run the power to each of the little segments at the tip. One will be the brake light and the other the running light..
Good luck.. If you need another light please check Cyclops out..
