Late season riding?

If you had the snow how late in the year would you ride? When do you pull out the summer toys?

I usually pull out the dirtbike in May or June but still go sledding a few times in June/July.

April riding in Alaska is common. We've got a trip scheduled next week for a multi-day outing at a remote lodge- ride in by snowmobile 60 miles, spend the night, ride all day the next day, spend the night and ride out 60 miles the following day. April is also when Arcticman is held, which is a snowmobiling event that hosts about 15,000 people at a remote location near Valdez AK.

I think most of us would ride our sleds year round, if we could.

June at the absolute earliest, last year we rode in July and this year is looking much stronger than last... Possibly into August with decent snow if things continue!

We had a stuck fest in a solid 2+ ft of fresh yesterday.:face-icon-small-sho:rockon:

Usually may around here but we havent had a good snow in about 2 months i might be done for the year :face-icon-small-fro!

snowmobiles were made to ride on snow, any form.....trucks were made to drive on dirt, many different forms as well. so until the snow melts from the dirt that i drive my truck i will keep riding. and fortunatly for me i can drive all the way to the alpine so this year we should be riding well into late june. maybe even july if it doesnt warm up to much in april-may. i mean you could have 20 feet of snow on the ground, but if its 70 in the alpine for 2 months, there aint gonna be any snow left.....

here in the east late riding means march. if i could i would ride year round though. this year however our last ride was first of January, sucks since the trails were only open twice and both times there was only a few inchs of snow, not even enough for me to get the sled out. :crutch:

We normally ride till mid june, after that the snow gets pretty suncupped and not much fun. Think we rode july 2nd last year? Normally back riding in november.

Where we live we ride dirt bikes all winter, it's actually some of the better dirt in the winter. In the summer its too dusty here so we drive 100miles one way to moto. Tracks here run april till october.
