EDIT!!! DO NOT BUY ACERBIS FUEL TANK. READ BELOW. GO IMS. THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS

What are most of you guys running? Im going to order a Acerbis 3.3 gallon...just curious if their is anything better before I actually order one.
I searched and searched and somehow I couldnt find anything on here!

Not that it matters but I only have experience with dirt riding with larger tanks but I'd check out IMS if I were you too. Both are good tanks I think, had one friend that had to reseal his Acerbis with RTV because it was leaking a bit not sure if that had to do with their seal or his install.

Well looks like its a Acerbis. I can only seem to find a ims in a 2.7 gallon. Acerbis has a 3.2 gallon. That is what I will get!
Thanks guys.

I ran a 3.1 on my YZ last year. It was nice adding fuel when it was convenient rather than when I ran out.

Tapatalk I guess .. ..

I like having the 3+ gallon tank on my ktm. If you only want to put in 2 gallons on a specific day you can. But I almost always fill it up. I burn 1/2 to 3/4 gallon getting out to the crazy stuff, riding part trail and part playing in the trees alongside the trail, so it is lightened up by the time I get there. On a less than full day ride I often don't have to refill. I have 3+ gallons in the tunnel gas can. On longer days, I have plenty of fuel (about 6.5 gallons). Only on the super long and/or super deep days do I ever have to worry about fuel, but then I don't ride as aggressive as a lot of guys so probably don't burn as much fuel as some.

Exactly. I agree. I was just pointing out that on those days that one may not want or need the extra 7 or 8 pounds of fuel up front, you can justnot fill the front tank all the way. Leaveone gallon out of it. The oversized tanks empty weight isn't much more (maybe a pound at most?) so for me, it's just nice to have the option. No doubt that for every 5 to 10 pounds one keeps off the front end, the better.

It may just come down to my already having the larger tank on my ktm so I've found some benefit in having it. Would I go out and pay for adding a larger tank with about one extra gallon capacity for a snow bike-only application? Probably not. Put the money into the nice 3.3 gallon mountain addiction tunnel tank if you don't have one already and/or into a second 1.3 or 3.3 gallon tunnel tank.

Well I went to hook up the fuel line and its kinked when sitting in the frame because their is only one variation to mount the fuel pump to the new tank and its a different variation then stock. Ill be talking to Acerbis tomorrow and see what they will do from this factory defect!

Tour buddy

I am going to dig up a fuel line from vent to a fuel can on the tunnel. Kind of like the old tour buddy on a sled. Work or not who knows yet??? Just don't want the added weight up high that a larger tank causes. Went from an awesome set up Wr to a yz for that reason. Please snow!!!

And Acerbis says all their tanks are like that.....Why would they change the variation of how the fuel pump bolts up......Acerbis tells me to route it a different way....I CANT! It seemed he was just blowing me off. I guess I can do a longer fuel line but I just wanted to bolt it up.....

just return it, I bought a large capacity ims for my yz and hated it, it sticks up way to high I already case my nut$$ enough as it is on the stock cap when i do drops, I went back to the stock tank, that and the 3.3 on the back is enough gas for most rides, if ur worried strap on an extra little 1 gallon and ditch it 10 miles up

I bought it on Ebay for $200. Thought it was a good deal. Ill make her work. Ive been out of gas before on my old snowbike. Dont want it to happen again!
