Large Avalanche Photos 03/04/17

This is one of the largest avalanche runouts I have ever seen. We were sticking to low risk areas for the day, and still ran into this path on the road. There were trees and other debris visible, it was quite impressive. The blocks of ice were so large and hard that moving through it would be VERY difficult on foot, and impossible on a sled or bike. The runout went 500 yads past where you can see in the photos, well past where the slope flattened out. I'm not going to preach, just thought I would share the pics.

those that have ridden whistler can attest to this crazy stuff.
avy alley at brandywine I have seen a whole valley filled with vw bus size chunks, RGM has a pic of him I took next to large debri that makes him look like a doll. crazy mother nature.

Mt. Saint Helens Avi

There were two debris fields like this on Feb 13th. I didn't get pictures of the channels they carved through the valleys but it looked like the deathstar valley. It's a good year for avalanches.

I've ridden and competed on dirt bikes since I was 4 years old (52 now!).

Been riding sleds with the wife for many, many years.

I cant believe I still haven't experienced a dang snowbike yet!!??

Even my wife says "It would be such a much more natural thing to you than snowmobiling"....ugh, one of these days I have to find out what I'm missing.

Problem is, I aint no spring chicken anymore....time is running out! :face-icon-small-sad
