The group behind Mackey got stuck in a terrible storm, one guy had two dogs die, speculation is that they froze. Scary stuff. I can't wait for the series to air on Versus so we all get a better idea of what happened. Mackey charged on through the beginning of the storm, while the group behind him didn't make it, some camped on the trail, some headed back to the previous check point. If Mackey had wasted any time back on the trail, he very well may have gotten caught up in the blizzard.
The first episode already came and went, featuring the start of the race through the Skwetna, it was on the air before the race was over, which is amazing! I can't wait for the rest of it.
