I was just in Tahoe for vacation and it looked like there was incredible riding terrain.

When does riding usually start? Headed out for vaca over turkey day with the in laws, need a reason to get away for a day or two!!! Is there places to rent sleds?

Riding might start around Turkey day ... depends on the weather which is inconsistant these last few years. Either little snow beginning of the year then lots in spring or vice versa.

It's winter anytime after 9-15.

This was 9-20-2007 The lake is right over that hill.Most stuff over 8500 feet had a good 18 inches out of that further south and took out the sleds.

Tahoe isn't very high, IMO, but around it is a bit better but still low.

I forgot on that week, don't remember the day, I was in 4wd on the freeway. It didn't last long, but it went from 95 during the day to 39 degrees and dumping snow that night in the valley.

The Harley guys were Pissed, they all got snowed on In Tahoe and Virginia city, and weren't ready.
