we were there in january and it was pretty thin, not even safe to ride off trail. I don't think it has improved much since then, especially now with the 2 week stretch of sun thats forecasted
Lake City is terrible this year. Which is a shame cause it's a killer place to ride when there is snow. Probably best snow in the area is north of Lake City, riding on the Alpine Plateau. You can ride over to The Inn at Arrowhead for some lunch.
