Just happened to be surfin channels last night and caught Kyle Busch smashing his trophy guitar after he won the race at Nashville (ala Pete Townsend or Jimi Hendrix), I thought it was a childish and tasteless display performed by another spoiled rich kid who was handed everything. This trophy is coveted by the other drivers and and this mental deficient punk treated it like a piece of junk. I now understand why Rick Hendrick got rid of him, he knew that Kyle would never grow up and he would always do these stupid juvenile stunts that make the fans hate him, what a jerk. Did you ever see Richard Petty, David Pearson or Cale Yarborough disrespect victory circle, Nascar used to have some class, what's next molest the trophy queen ???

i agree with your view of kyle, his plan was to give the whole crew a part of the trophy. they seemed to like it. it was all planned ahead of time. even the announcers knew it was going to happen if he won
Didnt see it however I do believe that the trophies are Gibson Les Paul customs. I had my custom stolen and went into a year long depression. Not only a classless thing to do but in many respects it's like de-facing a work of art. Always thought it was a great idea for a trophy however if I were Gibson I would have made the LAST one for nascar.

Gibson loved it. Great publicity for them. Busch is going to give a piece to each crew member, and has already ordered 2 more to replace the one he busted up. 1 for his trophy and one for his crew cheif. Say what you want about Busch but with him you know what your getting. Not like the bunch of Hendrick press drivers, ie Gordon and Johnson. And then there is Boonehauer that can't even begin to live up to the hype he has. The only class act Hendrick has right now is Martin. He is the only Hendrick driver I would think about pulling for. Busch is a great driver, like it or not.
I guess it's better than giving the crew a piece of his busted arse cars he's had lately.

It was a no class move just like his statement the week before about purposely bunching up the cars behind him in hopes of causing a big wreck so he could win the race under caution as he knew he didn't have enough fuel to go all the way like the others did. ADDMITTED that he was trying to cause a wreck!!!!

We'll think of it what you want. Should he have smashed it probbaly not but they make the big $$ when more people watch and get into racing. So if you thought it was a "cool" thing he's giving the pieces to his team your going to be on his side, If you think it was disrespectful your going to hate him, either way the controversy is just going to bring in more people talking about it = more $$.. Nascar wins..
The way I heard it Kyle cleared the "smash", or lack there of, with Sam Bass and Gibson. They both thought it was ok, most likely for all the added news print they would recieve.
In my opinion Kyle is 100% PUNK! Doubt you will get many to argue that point but there are 2 other things he does that makes me like him. 1) First and foremost Kyle is a immature little b$tch. I'm pretty sure we all will agree on that but he drives the wheels off these things so non can deny his ability as a talent. 2) NASCON err I mean NASCAR would be a pretty dull boring place if it weren't for that immature little b$tch. I'll be one of the first to admit I often watch a truck or nationwide race just to see what he's going to do. Either on the track or off. Do I think his talent makes his other immature little b$tch actions OK? H*llllllll no!!!!! More often than not the races he ISN'T in are ALOT more boring though.

One more thing to add before I get banned. If Dale Jr. had done the same thing he would have been praised as a God. Oh wait, that's right Dale Jr. can't win races. What was I thinking?
